Shen QingQiu

I designed the costume from scratch based on the character, drew it on a template based on my own body. Then I translated that to actual historical patterns I recreated on butcher paper from flat measurements. I based the costume off a combination of the source media and historical hanfu from the Ming dynasty. The project is unfinished as I found a better fabric for the outer green layer, and the chiffon beizhi is still under construction. When it’s done the project will incorporate appliqués, embroidery, and fabric painting. The wig was spliced together from a second hand arda wig and 3 ft wefts I sewed in. I styled the wig. The hair crown I bought- but I plan on making my own later.
