1. Research
Do research to learn how much this costume costs in premade and secondhand options and know WHY you are getting it custom made. Research commissioners on Coscove to find your perfect match.
2. Gather and document
Gather at least 2 reference photos (front & back, side view and past cosplays will be helpful too). Converting 2D to 3D is a process. The better prepared you are, the more commissioners can make your vision come true.
3. Measure, Measure, Measure!
Measure yourself based on the measuring image your commissioner sends you. Better yet, get a friend to help. Even better, go to your local tailor and get them to measure you.
